Goodnewspaper: The 2024 Mental Health Edition
We’re thrilled to announce the newest issue of the Goodnewspaper: The Mental Health Edition! This annual theme is always such a special one, as we take the time to celebrate the collective wins in mental health treatment, the solace found in communities, and the hope we can all share with one another.
In creating this year’s issue, we really wanted to explore the reality that the stigma surrounding things like anxiety and depression has decreased, but that people are still suffering deeply. We wanted to dig deeper into the youth mental health crisis, find the helpers who are confronting challenges specific to BIPOC communities, and help demystify a number of other mental health conditions.
And we found, as always, that there is so much to be hopeful about.
Some hope-inducing stories we wrote about include…
🌉 A new development decreasing suicide rates at the Golden Gate Bridge
🍄 Exciting updates in the treatment of mental health conditions
🧠 How we can best help young people as they navigate mental health
🌳 What it looks like to really heal generational trauma
✨ And so, so much more!
We hope these stories will motivate you to continue seeking out progress in the field of mental health, give you a renewed sense of optimism, and maybe even provide some inspiration for your next therapy session.
By the way, This issue of the newspaper includes stories about difficult topics such as suicide, trauma, and mental illness. We believe these stories will help you feel hopeful about these topics, but if you’re struggling with your mental health or the mental health of a loved one that might make reading this issue difficult for you — please take care of yourself.
To read an issue of the Goodnewspaper that is not about these topics, feel free to log into your account at goodgoodgood.co and revisit some of our past issues centered around other topics. Additionally, you can find a list of mental health resources, call centers, and more at ggg.news/articles/mental-health-resources. Please do not hesitate to seek help. Your story matters. Hope is real. And good news is ahead.
