Goodnewspaper: The 2024 Helpers Edition

One of the founding elements of the Goodnewspaper is our collective admiration of Fred Rogers, who is famously quoted as saying, “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”

While Rogers’ mother wasn’t specific about what these Helpers would look like — to us, Helpers are simply our neighbors and friends with the tools and talents to care for one another every day.

The annual Helpers Edition of the Goodnewspaper is a special one, allowing us all to honor the people who showed up to help — even in the darkest of times. This year, we celebrated Helpers who:

🥘 Provided life-saving humanitarian aid

🌍 Protected the planet

🗳️ Made us more engaged citizens

🥇 Inspired us with the love of the game

➕ and so much more.

Helpers are all of us; people who do what they can with what they have to make the world a better place.
